The Stanadyne DS (often called DS4) electronic fuel injection pump package manages electronically controlled fuel delivery for 1994–2000 GM 6.5L Detroit Diesel trucks and Hummer applications. Key Components of the DS Electronic Package DS4 Injection Pump: A fully electronic rotary distributor pump governed by an Electronic Control Module (ECM). It uses a fuel control solenoid rather than traditional mechanical weights to control timing and fuel quantity. PMD / FSD (Pump Mounted Driver / Fuel Solenoid Driver): The external electronic driver module mounted either on the pump body or relocated via a kit. It commands the main fuel solenoid. Wiring Harness & Resistor: Connects the ECM and PMD to the injection pump and includes a specific resistor (calibrated #1 through #9) to fine-tune fuel delivery. Relocation Kit: Often bundled into the package because factory pump-mounted PMDs fail prematurely from engine heat. Relocation moves the heat sink and driver module to the front bumper or grille for better cooling B & D
